The only plan
Our plans often change, but God’s never has!
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. — Isaiah 9:6
Not long ago, I was in a conversation with someone and they were talking about retirement planning. They are many years from retirement, but they began talking about how they were planning to retire. They had started saving money and planning for that future day.
A lot of thought was given about how much money they would need, what the potential retirement date could be, and many other things. They were asking me if they had missed anything in their plan. After a few questions that I asked, they began thinking about other options they needed to consider.
We often make plans in our lives. Some are short term and some are long term, but those plans can often change based on circumstances. Life can take a different path and change our plans.
That was not the case with God’s plan for Jesus. From the Garden of Eden, the plan was Jesus. There was no alternate plan, Jesus was the only plan. His blood was the permanent solution to the sin problem of this world.
As we continue to reflect and look toward Christmas, is Jesus part of your plan in your life? It isn’t just that you have accepted Him, but that you are living your life for God in a way that others may see Jesus in you. At this time of year, the world needs to see Jesus. Are they seeing Him in you?
