Living this year for God
Instead of making a resolution for things of this world, make a resolution to serve God.
As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. -- Joshua 24:15
If you are like me, you have been overwhelmed with advertisements for the new year. Gyms are advertising how you can find a “new you” in the coming year by joining a gym. Others will say that it’s the perfect time to buy a new car and start the year off right.
We often focus on these types of new things as a year begins. Some will set resolutions for things that they want to accomplish in the new year. Those things are certainly great, but they often overlook one thing.
Many times, we often set our eyes on things of this world in how we want to improve going into the new year. This often leaves God out of the equation. We may not even give consideration to what He wants for our lives, or how he wants to lead our lives.
Aside from giving your heart to Jesus Christ, living for God is the most important thing you can do with your life! This is more than just lip service to God, but involves a commitment. You could even say it is a form of resolution.
We do not know what the new year will hold. We do not know all the mountains and valleys that we will walk through. Yet, we do know who will never leave us nor forsake us. We know who will be with us all the way.
As we start into the new year, instead of making a resolution for things of this world, make a resolution to serve God. This year, make a commitment to serve Him with all your heart. It will make a significant difference in your life as you go through the new year.

May God bless you and yours with a brave New Year...
