He's looking for you!
Instead of being distracted by the people and things of this life, we should be in our place, ready to spend time with God.
And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house. -- Luke 19:5
A few weeks ago, I was working in my office at home when I heard my son come out of his room. He will often come to my office to look for me if he believes I am home. On this specific day, I had promised him that I would be home the following day and we would spend time together. As soon as he got up, he immediately started looking for me.
I heard him go to my office, but I wasn't in there. He started looking all over the house. He was opening every door and I heard him saying, "Dad, where are you?" He continued across the house and continued to look for me.
After some time, he found where I was. He came running over to me and said, "I found you. I was looking for you." He wasn't going to be happy until he found me. He knew I was supposed to be there and I was going to spend time with him.
There are many moments in our life that are similar with God. God wants to spend time with us. Yet, so many times He doesn't find us where we are supposed to be. Instead of being in our place, we are distracted, or we have disregarded the place where God wants us.
Perhaps you are there. Perhaps you have felt God speaking to your heart, wanting you to get into your place so that He can spend time with you. But what's keeping you from it? Instead of being distracted by the people and things of this life, we should be in our place, ready to spend time with God. Today, maybe He's looking for you! Where will He find you?

For many years now Jared, your thoughtful and scripturally-based analysis and insight has been the most encouraging part of my day. Despite often feeling convicted I have always smiled - more equipped to meet this fallen world.
Thank you.
